A little Retail Therapy

Welcome if your over here from Stephanies blog, The Enchanting Rose and are linking from
Roses of inspiration party.  GLAD YOUR HERE!!!!

You could say I have done my part to spur on the economy!!!  Today after a very stressfull two weeks because of an accident of someone driving into our carport and damaging the entire carport, moved the garage off its foundation , totaled my sisters car and my husbands utility truck I had about all I could take dealing with adjusters and insurance people and its still not settled nor will be for a couple of weeks and it is a shambles!!!  My hubbys truck and suv sit under the carport...sigh....

So whats a girl to do you ask?  How about a little retail therapy???? I hit Michaels and boy did I do some damage there!!!  Take a look at these photos:

My all time FAVORITE scrapbook embellishment is made by K & Company and is getting harder and harder to find They are flowers, butterflies, and birds...embellishment stickers...if you have any you want to get rid of let me know!!!!!....but I was lucky and found these!!!  And some cute pointsettias for christmas time!  (yup all clearanced!)  And look at that beautiful wood stamp!

Next I found these and let me tell you they were only $1.00!!!  The spools each have 6 yards of the prettiest Lace!!!  My goodness I purchased....ahem....ALOT.....like I think I left only 8 spools there......Okay I bought like 30 or 40 spools????  Sick I know....And those flowers!!! My goodness!  They were only $1.00 too!!!!  Yep I got ALOT....

Then I strolled into the clearance section on the back wall!!!  Found these 4 packages of chipboard waiting to be painted and crackled and sprinkled with glitter!!!  They were only $2.50!  Gasp!

Last up and my last stop was our only Local Scrapbook store that is hanging on ...barely....sad to see scrapbook stores close, but I bought these lovlies and  some twine/rope stuff.  Oh do I have things in my head!! haha!!!  Anyway.....This is the damage I did today.....I used the money I made from my craft show back in November....I have been saving it for that one day I wanted to go and splurge!!! I did and the household budget wasn't touched!

I will be back to regular posting now that there is only one more thing to do for the insurance.  So now I can start crafting again....See you soon!!!!

  4. Well sweet Tilda, birthday girl, I think some retail therapy was in order! You found some great fun things. We had an insurance deal when we had our shoppe years ago that drug on for 3 years, so I really do understand your stress. I want to wish you belated birthday wishes! I enjoyed reading about your family history....a very proud history and wonderful story. I loved my 50's and always share with my younger friends that your 50's are a very special time to be enjoyed! Looks like you are on the right path. Hugs, Linda

    1. Thank you so much Linda! It is funny because the other day I was talking to my hubby and said 50 and I had a hard time saying it! Lol! I surely hope it doesn't take 3 years to settle this! We are actually on the home front I think. Fingers crossed!

  5. So sorry to hear about the accident, I have seen that kind of thing happening on the news and think how terrible that would be, especially the ones where the car went into their bedroom while they were sleeping, can't imagine waking up to that. Wow you picked up some great deals there, you will be already when you start to create again. Oh I was going to say JoAnns carries alot of K&co. if you have one of those close by

    1. Thank you. My hubby's truck stopped her car from hitting the house( my sister rents from us) anyway, it's still a mess over there, I think all the adjusters came out, now we wait. And thanks for the heads up about Joann's! I went yesterday and found them! Yippee! And they were 40% off to boot! Plus they took my 20% total purchase Michaels coupon!

  6. Tilda, you have me jumping up and down with excitement for your great day out!!! Wowzo in deed!
Stephanie and I were just talking about Michelle's yesterday, I'm in desperate need of getting there. The nearest one for me is two hours away.

You are going to have a ball playing and crafting with all your new treasures, enjoy yourself.

Wow, what a deal with your car port. That driver must have been going quite fast to do that kind of damage? May it be resolved soon, otherwise, you may have to make another trip to Michelle's.:-)

    Have a terrific day!

They items are just so lovely and I will be posting a photo of some nameplates I made for our annual tea with emellies! Do plan a trip to Michaels! They have some great things and I think it helps spark the creativity!
