Tea Party in April!!!

Hello all!  I wanted to share a few photo's taken by my phone because I FORGOT the Cannon....sigh...anyway glad my phone has a good lens!

I am sharing this post over at Stephanie's Roses Of Inspiration party!  One you don't want to miss, it is filled with beautiful blogs and inspiration!

Every spring the Women's Ministries Board hosts a Tea Party with  a theme and this year it was Aprons!  Oh the wonderful Aprons and the stories that went with them were fabulous!!!  I decided to go ahead and make cute ones for me and the girls but remembered that youngest had purchased a darling apron a few months back so she was set.  I made mine and my other daughters...they turned out cute.  Here we are, what do you think?  If you look closely at mine I have flowers, Teapots and teacups all over my fabric.

Behind us was a wall filled with aprons from the early 20's on up!!!  One of the gals gave  a story on the history of Aprons and it was NEAT!!!!

So I hosted my table, brought my china to church and set up my table.....I stopped at Michaels and picked up a few things...mainly the flowers for the centerpiece...they were 60 % off!  What a steal!
I woke up VERY early the day of the tea to see my hubby off and well I figured I was up I might as well make myself do something so I made name cards, I love love love K & Company, see post below and so I used K&Company cardstock and embellishments.

For each of the ladies at my table I gave them a cute teapot hatpin made by me, they loved them!  It brings me such joy that they appreciated the little gift.

Next up is the way I rolled the silverware, very inexpesive but it looks lovely.  I took the silverware rolled it in a napkin, then rolled it in a doily, tied it with a sheer pink ribbon and embellished it with a K & Company butterfly embellishment and stuck the hatpin in the ribbon area. ( I noticed after I took the picture my doily slipped out of position....forgot to take another photo after I fixed it!!! sigh.....

Next photo is the table....I had so much fun setting it up....wish you all could have been there with me!  We had a most delightful time and the speaker was lovely. I made sure every setting had a different teacup.

.....thanks for stopping by and remember ....God Loves you!

A little Retail Therapy

Welcome if your over here from Stephanies blog, The Enchanting Rose and are linking from
Roses of inspiration party.  GLAD YOUR HERE!!!!

You could say I have done my part to spur on the economy!!!  Today after a very stressfull two weeks because of an accident of someone driving into our carport and damaging the entire carport, moved the garage off its foundation , totaled my sisters car and my husbands utility truck I had about all I could take dealing with adjusters and insurance people and its still not settled nor will be for a couple of weeks and it is a shambles!!!  My hubbys truck and suv sit under the carport...sigh....

So whats a girl to do you ask?  How about a little retail therapy???? I hit Michaels and boy did I do some damage there!!!  Take a look at these photos:

My all time FAVORITE scrapbook embellishment is made by K & Company and is getting harder and harder to find They are flowers, butterflies, and birds...embellishment stickers...if you have any you want to get rid of let me know!!!!!....but I was lucky and found these!!!  And some cute pointsettias for christmas time!  (yup all clearanced!)  And look at that beautiful wood stamp!

Next I found these and let me tell you they were only $1.00!!!  The spools each have 6 yards of the prettiest Lace!!!  My goodness I purchased....ahem....ALOT.....like I think I left only 8 spools there......Okay I bought like 30 or 40 spools????  Sick I know....And those flowers!!! My goodness!  They were only $1.00 too!!!!  Yep I got ALOT....

Then I strolled into the clearance section on the back wall!!!  Found these 4 packages of chipboard waiting to be painted and crackled and sprinkled with glitter!!!  They were only $2.50!  Gasp!

Last up and my last stop was our only Local Scrapbook store that is hanging on ...barely....sad to see scrapbook stores close, but I bought these lovlies and  some twine/rope stuff.  Oh do I have things in my head!! haha!!!  Anyway.....This is the damage I did today.....I used the money I made from my craft show back in November....I have been saving it for that one day I wanted to go and splurge!!! I did and the household budget wasn't touched!

I will be back to regular posting now that there is only one more thing to do for the insurance.  So now I can start crafting again....See you soon!!!!

50....,...

Today is " the" day.....I am the big golden egg....I Am 50 years old.  I can't believe it.  I don't feel old, I feel like I am in my 20's.  Could it be because I am short?  I only stand at 5'2" .......5'3" if I tease, backcomb, my hair.  At 50 I am in the best health I have ever been in, and now this year I am going to work on being in my best physical shape, muscle, tone, just overall shape.  That is my goal.  I must also mention today my sweet hubby turns 52!  We share the same birthday, it is kinda neat!

Here I am in my High School Graduation Picture

And here I am Today......

I was born 50 years ago today to Italian Imigrant parents in Brooklyn, New York ar Shore Road Hospital which no longer stands.  My father was 36 and my Mom was 27 years old when I was born. I am the 4th of 5 kids.  Both parents came to America for the opportunity.  My Parents names are written in the book at Ellis Isaland .   They went to school to become American Citizens and earned their Citizenship.  They met at an Italian American club in New York, yes they came over at different times and did not know each other until they met in America!   They fell in love and had 5 kids.  My brothers and sisters have Italian names, I have a German name...... We are 100% Italian.  So how did I end up with my name Tildamarie.  Well it goes like this....I am named after my Zia (aunt in italian) she got her name because her Grandfather was commissioned to America to help build bridges.  He and my grandfather came to America on work Visas and help build bridges.  They stayed with a host family, and one of the girls name was Tilda.  My grandfather loved it so very much, when he went back to Italy he and my Grandmother had a baby girl and named her Tilde, She is my namesake. My father, Guiseppe,  was very close to my Aunt Tilde and so he named me after her!  So even tho it is not Italian, it is an honorable name, and I am proud to be named after my Aunt Tilde!

Okay so there you have it.  I was raised in New York for half my childhood, attended Catholic school then the other half my parents decided to move to Florida where I graduated from public school......I went to College and  when I turned 21 I moved to Denver hired by Frontier Airlines.

I met my hubby downtown Denver in the Cafeteria of  The Marriott Hotel....LOVE at first sight..he was so handsome!!!!!  We were married a year later and had our eldest a year after that and the other daughter 5 years after her.  We became Born again Christians before we married and God has Blessed us Beyond Measure ever since......We moved back to Florida for 3 short years while my hubby went to school and ended up landing in Idaho now for 16 years....we love it here!!!!

That's it , my first 50 years!  I could go on and on but I won't bore you.....I just gave you the very short version.

I. AM. 50!!!!! Still hard to believe, but age is just a number.    Thank you for stopping by!  Come back often and remember God Loves You!

Too Good Not To Share!!!

So my friend Vonne of 28 years posted this funny thing on my facebook wall and I thought I really had to share with all my friends....it is was to funny to not share!!! But before I do I have to explain a funny story about Me, Vonne, Sewing and Scrapbooking.

Vonne, so a fun friend, was a scrapbooker...and I mean diehard! And me well, thread runs through my veins.  One day as we were discussing our hobbies we decided the other one should try theirs....so I said I will do a page if you make something...and so the challenge was on.  I attended a D.O.T.S party which is now Close to my heart , at Vonnes home in Denver.  It was a stamping party.  I bought a few stamps and markers, in the mean time Vonne and I headed out the the fabric store and purchased material for a tank top for her.  Okay all materials were in and so we started.  She taught me to make a few cards and I did, boy was I PROUD of myself!! And Boy were the cards pretty plain!!!  But I stood up on my end and now it was hers.  She made a tank top out of flag print material for the 4th of July Celebration at church and  it turned out GREAT!!!  Then she asked to make her husband a pair of pants, sweats like....Okay lets do it!  She picked out some camo material, cut it out and sewed them up and then called.....and the conversation went something like this.....

Vonne:  Well I made the pants and I am now at the waist band, but elastic is very expensive!
Me:  That is great!!! and yea it can be expensive but he will need them to keep his pants up.
Vonne:  I suppose, well okay gotta run!

A few days later she calls me:

Vonne:  Hey guess what I finished Larry's pants!
Me:  Great!  Did you find the elastic?
Vonne:  No I just took the elastic off a pair of his underware and used that!!!
Me:  Shakes head.....

LOL  isn't that the funniest????  I laughed and laughed about that for YEARS and still giggle when I think about it!!!  So today on my wall my dear friend Vonne Posted this...we just laughed and laughed!!! Could you imagine???  Enjoy my friends!!!!

March Answer All Invitations Parade of small quilts!

Hello and Welcome to the Parade!  If your here from the link up party at Roses Of Inspiration please pull up a seat!    Lots and lots of talented quilters and I tell you they are ALL beautiful!  Super job ladies each and every one of you!  I know your all excited to see all the pretties but first let me share what next month will bring!  I really had a tough time deciding this month because there are sooooooo many lovely quilts to choose from but this one spoke the loudest to me and so here it is.....I do want to share the final deciding factor....just under the title it reads...

"The double hourglass block used in this quilt is a reminder of how time may have crept by slowly as women during the Civil War waited for news about their husbands, sons, and fathers who had enlisted."

It really made me stop in my tracks and think about how agonizing it must have been for them because they didn't have the technology or the communication capabilities we have today.  In a few seconds we can get a message on our phones from across the world.  We can stream video and live video chats in real time.  But not these women, they had to wait for a messenger to come by on a horse.  And their news was sent weeks and sometimes months prior, not milliseconds like we have.....so this quilt is for all those women that waiting and wondered....it is to them I dedicate this quilt...please turned to page 72.........."Double Hourglass"

And now onto the Parade!  Again these ladies did an awesome job!  I loved them all!

First up we have Vivan from Iowa, She made an extra Row on hers using 1800's repro fabrics...love the scrappy look....and that little twig bed is her favorite doll bed.....I can see why!

Jodi tells me she had fun making this quilt and I would have to agree with her!!!  It turned out so pretty, lovely colors Jodi!

Annette in Wishconsin used beautiful yellows and blues!  So soft and lovely...and that quit rack is awesome!!  That machine is everyones envy! hehe  Great job!

Gail used a Charm pack from Minick & Simpson Called Independence Trail....Love the Americana Colors!!! and the white backdrop :0)  Nice Job Gail!

Mickey used up some scraps from a garage sale with four patches already together....how clever is that!!!!  Hers is made in Flannel!  Love that bed...very cute Mickey!

Robin made this version but made it a little smaller turning out an 18"x18" quilt...DARLING!!!! This one really pops!

Susan also made hers smaller and made it half size to measure 12 1/2 x 12 1/2 "...Love that hanger!!!  Nice color palette Susan!
Anna also used Americana colors and I LOVE This!!!  If you really look closely you will see she quilted stars in it!!!  AWESOME Job Anna!!!
Cathy sent us this Rockin Version.....Love the color combo really lovely job, just beautiful!

Lori did this very cheerful spring color version..oh o makes me long for warmer weather and flowers!  Super sweet !

And lastly Mine....I used Token of Friendship charm pack by Kansas Troubles.  Love the colors so rich! I will say that for some reason the blue looks electric, I promise its just a regular ole navy blue, lighting was way off today as we have grey skies.....sigh.

Three Finishes!

Welcome everyone!  Today is the link up Party from Roses of Inspiration party. Go take a peek and browse not only Stephanie's beautiful blog but there are many links to other ones as well!

Back in January I told on myself to force myself finish all of my UFP's...unfinished projects, you can find that post right Here.  Well I am very happy to report I finished not only One, or two .....but THREE of the quilt tops that needed completed!

Here I was in the process of completed one of them....
I have to tell you if you haven't tried these clips instead of pins you MUST!  I love them and it's so refreshing to not poke myself and bleed all over the place. Seriously a must have!

Okay so here are pictures of two of the quilts.  I made them for a friend and designed the pattern myself.  I like the colors, they are soft and ladylike.

Next up is a quilt I started about three or four years ago but never did quilt it and get it on the table.  I had made and finished the 8 placemats that went with it but never got around to finish this one, now I am glad I did, it's now on the table.  I also took a detailed photo of my quilting...love this method, I free minded it...lol that's a new made up word from yours truly, instead of free hand I used my mind and came up with the quilt design for this quilt...hence free minded it.  Okay , okay, now you know I can amuse myself!  Until next time, God Bless you and your home.  Remember God Loves YOU!

Over 100 years old.............

Not me, but some days I feel that way!! LOL  Actually this year I will be celebrating the 1/2 century mark, even tho I don't feel like I am that age, I still think I am so much more younger, well at least my mind, my joints are another story! LOL

Back to the subject at hand....I was shopping in my local Antique store that I try to visit once a month because the inventory changes all the time.  I walked in and BOOM!!!  There it was , in all its glory hanging on a quilt rack was this gorgeous quilt, hand pieced and quilted.....I felt like I was in a dream when I looked at the price tag!!!  Then the shop owner made me a deal....

Take a look, I will be right back after the photo's to tell you my deal!!!

yes there are a few stains and I will be giving it a bath to try and remove said stains but either way its beautiful!!!  I wish it could speak because I would love to know the story.  What the shoppe owner could tell me is that it was Pre WWI  !!!  Crazy, so I said it is lovely , they said well we can give you a better deal because the owner just wants it to go to a good home to someone that can care for it.....Well then how much?  We can do .....are you ready for it???????????????????
$60 !!!!!!  I couldn't believe my mind, I almost had to pinch myself because I never believe it could be real that I can own a quilt that old for so little!!!!  you see quilts this age in this condition can usually fetch so much more!!!  And so now it will have a bath and a place of honor in my home!

Now of course I did alittle more shopping and have to show you what I came away with.....

This one isn't anything facy but it is pretty, so it came home with me...hehe

Love the roses on the next two.....

This one they tell me is pre WWII , It has an opulecent finish...just gorgeous. And I love the feet!

This bag holder is from Germany and was just so cute!

Now this next one is my favorite, it is very small and just so delicate also English...but just so lovely!

And lastly was this quilt kit!!!  Just sew the pieces together is all!!!  And the price, not sure if you can read it...was only $3.50!!!!  So that made its way into my basket!

all in all it was a great haul!  I was so very happy!!!  Until next time, have a Blessed day!

Hello!!!!!

Oh my goodness its been OVER a year!!  WHAT???? What happened?  Hmmmmm Facebook, Instagram and just plain life. I guess you can say I took...
